The Town of Colonie is proud to honor its veterans for their courage and sacrifice. Two ways for residents to recognize their loved ones are by enrolling the veteran in our online memorial database or purchase a paver at the Town of Colonie Veterans Memorial.
The online memorial database was introduced in 2003 and today includes approximately 1,000 veterans who at some point in their lives resided in the Town of Colonie. By clicking “Veterans Database” above, visitors can search for a specific veteran by name or for groups of veterans by conflict or branch of service. An advanced search allows multiple criteria to be researched simultaneously.
Personalized pavers at the Town of Colonie Veterans Memorial are available for purchase. Order forms are available on the “Personalized Pavers” tab above. Additionally, a directory is available for those wishing to view the pavers that have been installed as well as locations of the pavers.
The Goal
The goal is that the Town of Colonie Veterans Memorial will serve not only to remember and honor the Colonie veterans that served in the past but keep in our thoughts those serving today as well as serve as a reminder for future generations of the courage and sacrifice of all veterans.
The Colonie Veterans Project Committee would like to extend its gratitude to:
The Town of Colonie whose support and commitment made the Town of Colonie Veterans Project possible.
The Upper Hudson Library System for dedicating resources to develop and host the original Veterans Project Internet Site.
The Vibert O. Fryer Chapter 88 of the Disabled American Veterans for their generous donation to the Colonie Veterans Project.
Veterans and current members of the armed forces of the United States of America whose sacrifices keep our country free.
